Finding I

David had no idea what he wanted to be when he grew up, even at the age of 37. When he started in a warehouse, loading for events, he thought that this was just a holding spot until he found something else. Eight years later, after countless events, David found himself learning along with everyone else. Through the years, David listened to and took a lot of notes with the presenters that he had the pleasure of working with. He changed how he thought, acted, and even lived through these encounters. Over time he compiled what he learned into the book for which you are about to read.
The stories are real. The learning is real. The change is real. The conversations are real. Now, David is sharing what he has learned with you so that you too can become the person that you are meant to be!
Inside the workspace
Ten sections of guided work
Each section pairs a chapter of the book with interactive prompts. Your answers save automatically and stay private to your account.
The Baseline
Where you are right now
As I promised, here is your homework. I want to develop a base line of where you are at. Please take the time to complete the questions as they will become important in our next session. Bring these completed questions with you to the next session.
Session 1 — Training Your PETs
Working with your automatic thoughts
Once you are able to see the PET Principle, you can't un-see it. It's all around us. I gave some examples during our time together and you've shared some as well. Don't over think these answers, just write down what comes to mind.
Session 2 — Emotional Contagion
The emotions you catch and spread
Emotions are all around us, you can't avoid them. But what you can do is choose how you react to them, either good or bad, the choice is yours. You also have the power to make changes. So, what are you going to do? Here's a challenge that I want you to complete this week, each day, look in the mirror and say, "Today is going to be a great day." Say it with a smile and mean it. Share with me how you felt, was it fake, fun or did it feel forced? And then share what happened each day.
Session 3 — Understanding Your Goals and Strategies
What you are really pursuing
We worked through your personal goal so that you are able to strategically complete your goals. Now I want you to create a professional goal. Maybe it's something at work or maybe something that you want grow into, either way, create a professional goal. Share it with someone that you trust that you can bounce ideas off of.
Session 4 - Enhancing Productivity and Time Management
Spending your hours on what matters
Today we developed strategies to focus on completing tasks in an efficient timeline. Using what you learned, start to go through your weekly tasks and answer the questions below.
Session 5 — Building Confidence
Evidence over affirmation
We laid a good foundation on building up your confidence. However, I can only show you the door. You have to walk through. Let's build it up some more.
Session 6 — Teamwork
Who you build with
We really didn't intend on talking the whole session about teamwork today, but since we did, I thought that I would ask some follow questions for you to think about this week.
Session 7 — Determine Your Values
The lines you will not cross
We really didn't intend on talking the whole session about teamwork today, but since we did, I thought that I would ask some follow questions for you to think about this week.
Session 8 — Finding Your Ikigai
Your reason for being
We had a great start on finding your ikigai. Please continue writing out at least 10 things in each category to see if there happens to be something else in the works.
Session 9 — Align Your Actions with Your Ikigai
Living what you found
Let's revisit your homework from the introduction. Let's see what has changed over the last 9 weeks. Look at your answers from Introduction Homework, would you change any of your answers? If it's changed, write that below. If it's the same, write why you are keeping it the same.
